The Woodland Wrought Iron Bed has a beautiful rustic tree branch design on the wrought iron headboard and footboard. The Woodland Wrought Iron Bed is completely hand forged by blacksmiths and the quality of the workmanship is readily apparent. The headboard and footboard are individually manufactured with wrought iron that is hand hammered. Available in Black, Rust, Pewter or Antique White Crackle finish, the handmade nature of these beds assures that no two beds will be exactly alike. & Company produces and manufactures functional artistic furniture and
accessories. Every item Mathews & Company creates is of the highest
quality. Mathews & Company set the standard for craftsmanship in their
shop and for the master craftsmen themselves. They are also committed to
environmentally sound manufacturing using recycled and natural materials
and processes in their products.
The hand forged wrought iron in the furniture is produced individually in
the true manner of a blacksmith, by hammer and anvil. The copper tops on
the tables are made from recycled copper wire that is first melted in a
wood fire, rolled into a sheet and hammered by hand over every square inch.
This process causes the copper sheet to cool quickly and become brittle.
The copper must therefore be returned to the fire to be softened for hammering
to continue. This step may be repeated a number of times depending on the
amount of hammering and movement necessary to complete the copper skin.
One of the results of this manufacturing technique is the coloration given
to the copper. The black is mottling is caused by the carbon from the fire.
Some copper has a more red coloration and bright spots appear when the patina
is flashed off during the cooling process. Consequently, each copper table
top is truly unique and one of a kind. When complete, the copper skin is
hammered around and attached to a wooden core. The final step is a wax coat
finish applied to the table for protection. Polishing gives a beautiful
shine and luster to the copper.
Mathews & Company pottery is made in Mexico using a mixture of 3 different
clays indigenous to that region. This same clay has been used for centuries
to make cooking vessels. All pottery is handmade and the finishes hand applied.
As such, there may be slight variations in size and color, making each piece
individually unique. |
| Mathews & Company warranties their forged iron
products for one year on general construction including welds, moving parts
such as swivels, fabric separation, and paint finish. A photo image and
detailed description of the defect must be provided before the acceptance
of any warranty claims. During this warranty period, Humble Abode will,
at our option, repair or replace any such defective component without charge
except for transportation, shipping and handling costs. A return merchandise
authorization (R.M.A.) must be issued by us before returning any merchandise.
All returns must be suitably packed to prevent further damage (preferably
in the original carton). Craftsmanship or the use of natural materials may
cause minor variations to occur from piece to piece. This warranty does
not cover such minor differences. This warranty is in effect for products
under normal use. No credit or allowance will be made for damages or defects
resulting from abuse, improper maintenance, fire or natural disaster. |
| At Humble Abode, we are proud of the merchandise
we feature on our website. If you are not completely satisfied for any reason,
contact us within five (5) days of delivery and we will arrange pickup of
the item. Once the order has been prepared for shipping, the customer is
responsible for a 25% restocking fee and actual round trip shipping charges
incurred, if any. All returns must be authorized in advance by Humble Abode.
Humble Abode will arrange shipping for returning items and the shipper will
contact you to schedule pickup. Once the items are received back and inspected,
a refund will be issued. |
