Night & Day Platform Beds and Case Goods Information

Our Night & Day Rubberwood Collection of platform beds and coordinating case goods are constructed of a plantation grown, very strong asian hardwood called Rubberwood. With the smooth grain and natural golden color of Beech, Rubberwood has been in commercial use for many years, and is a member of the Maple family. While the group is manufactured in Malaysia, it is of a very good quality, and is processed through very strict quality control inspections. The Clove bedroom collection provides a contempory look to compliment the Night & Day platform beds. For a more traditional look try the Juniper bedroom collection to go with any of the Night & Day platform beds. Our customers have given us many compliments regarding this group.

 
The bases of the Night & Day Collection of beds are all the same, with the Sage Platform bed having no headboard at all, each style is distinguished by the headboard design, providing variety to suit every taste and decor. The Coriander has a firm, but softly cushioned leather headboard, over solid wood construction, that stands at a height of 46 1/2" tall, just the color of a dark chocolate bar, matching the espresso finish of the surrounding wood perfectly. The Black Pepper has a bentwood headboard, framed by cornerposts curved at the top, and is available in the Espresso and Cherry finishes only. The Nutmeg is a slatted sleigh style headboard, arching 6 7/8" from the wall. The Saffron has a panelled headboard, enclosed in solid wood framework. Thyme has sleek, a low profile with center slat details. The Rosebud Rattan & Wood Platform bed has solid wood construction with beautifully woven rattan in a golden caramel finish. The solid wood cornerposts and siderails are finished in Espresso, and this bed can be ordered with either the rolled rattan footboard, or a low profile footrail, as seen on other platform beds in this collection.
 
These platform beds use closely spaced, thick wood slats which fully support a mattress in 2 positions. Each slat is approximately 2.5-3" wide and approximately 3-4" apart. There are two settings to support a mattress: in the high position, at 13" from the floor, or in the low position, at 10 1/2" from the floor. The use of a box spring is not required, but the low position allows a very nice option for it's use. The positioning of the slats in no way affects the use of the optional UnderBed Storage Drawers.
 
The rolling UnderBed Storage Drawers are very convenient, and are available for use with any of our platform beds from this collection, along with a frontispiece footboard panel. Independent component pieces that simply roll under the bed, the drawer sides and fronts and are constructed of the same wood as the rest of this group. With no casing or track system, just hidden rollers, the front of these wide drawers butt up against the side rails of the bed, and the frontispiece panel conceals the sides of the drawers from view, creating a cabinetry effect for a streamlined look.
 
The inside measurement of each drawer box is 18"D x 36"W x 5"H. The outside measurement is 21"D x 39"W x 7"H at the side, 9"H drawer front. Drawer front overlaps the siderail of the bed; clearance is 8" to the floor. The drawers, constructed in the same solid wood and beautiful stain colors as the bed color choices, are on a white melamine base (only visible inside the drawerbox) with 4 rollers for a smooth glide. The drawers are offered as options with this group of platform beds, and will fit 2 drawers per side, for a total of 4 drawers, 2 per side only, for complete symmetry of design
