Trundle Beds Buying Guide

Trundles are the perfect piece of furniture for kids bedrooms and guest rooms where space is tight and extra sleeping surfaces are sometimes needed for children’s slumber parties or adult overnight guests.
*Please keep in mind that Trundle Beds absolutely will not fit under standard bed frames.
Configurations: Our Trundles are available by themselves or paired with Trundle Beds , Daybeds or our Duralink High Rise Trundle Bed frames. Pop Up Trundle Beds can be used in their lowered or raised position.

Most Trundle Bed combinations are sold with only the Twin Size for both upper and lower beds, and have a weight limit of an average of 200LBS, after application of a mattress, however, our Wesley Allen Collection contains many trundle beds available with the option of a Full Size upper bed. Wesley Allen Trundle beds and Daybeds have a slatted upper frame of iron bars, considered to be the strongest frames on the market today; we have not been given a weight limit on these beds.

While we have many styles of Trundle Beds and Day Beds available, the Duralink is our basic frame. Although it does not have decorative head or footboards, the mattress is secured in the high frame by the bumpers and the head and foot: the tubular steel leg pieces.

Conventional headboards do not have the same connection spots as the headboard for a Trundle bed, and one may NOT attach anything to the Duralink Trundlebed, as this will be very hazardous and unsafe, affecting the integrity of the steel legs. A headboard securely attached to a wall may be used with the Duralink placed in front of it, to give the impression of a "headboard only" look.

Both Daybeds and Trundle beds use Standard Twin size mattresses: 39"W x 75"L. The pop up trundle bed (lower) mattress must be a Twin size no thicker than 8", in order to fit under the high frame of the upper bed. Daybeds and trundle beds are not made for Extra Long Twin size mattresses (80"L). We offer the Sealy Hamstead Posturepedic trundle bed mattress because it is an excellent quality, medium firm mattress that works perfectly with all our Daybeds and Trundle beds. If you are considering using two Trundle Beds side by side as a King size bed please consider our Extend A Bed Safety Strap.

Box Springs: Box Springs are not required for Trundle Beds.
