Small rugs are generally considered to be less than 5 feet in length or diameter. Small area rugs are useful as floor coverings for entries, foyers or small rooms or spaces. Some small carpets are quite small at 2' x 3' in measurement, good for a small entryway, in front of a sink or workspace or as an accent beneath a small table. A Small oriental rug is a generic term used to describe a small area rug whether or not the small rug originated in the east or has an eastern design.
