The slat support system that is part of the Coal Harbor Mate's Bed requires only a mattress for use. The Series 9 Headboard offers a sleek and versatile solution to bedroom storage and does not forego style. Flip-up doors reveal two generously sized compartments for keeping books and other personal items safely behind the doors. Keep the doors up to display favorite treasures. The inset geometric pulls are recessed so hair or clothing won't snag and maintain a clean contemporary look. This free standing headboard can be used with any full or queen sized bed frame. The Coal Harbor Mate' Bed with Series 9 Headboard is available in three lustrous finish options: Black, Espresso or Medium Brown Walnut. Crafted of laminated composite woods with a MDF backer, the Coal Harbor Mate' Bed with Series 9 Headboard by Prepac ships RTA, ready to assemble. A detailed instruction booklet with easy to understand assembly directions is included.
Please note: the Coal Harbor Mate's Bed and Series 9 Headboard do not attach to each other. The bed is designed to rest against the headboard which is placed against the wall.
When ordering the Full size bed with Headboard, the bed is designed to hold a standard Full size mattress but the Headboard is a standard Queen size.

Great price-great bed!
I am very pleased with the ease of putting together the new bed. I originally thought it would take two people, but I was able to do it by myself in just a few hours. I love the extra drawers and it looks great!!

Quick delivery, clear instructions, easy assembly
Bed panels are well-designed manufactured wood products. Metal hardware is sturdy and easily installed. Plastic hardware is easy to install, but heed the warning in the instructions about not over-tightening... spacers can crack and there are no spares. The only aspect of the assembly process that proved at all difficult was squaring the brass cams with the footboard screws; a little patience and an extra set of hands helps seat the final few twists to true the frame.
