Every leaf on the Castanea Wrought Iron Canopy Bed is made one at a time, with careful attention to detail by true iron artisans. A subtle touch of the outdoors gives this masterpiece a natural feel. Hand wrought leaves sit on top of the canopy and act as finials for a whimsical touch. There are nine finishes from which to choose. Natural Black is the standard finish for this amazing bed. The remaining finishes incur a nominal premium upcharge. The Castanea Wrought Iron Canopy Bed is designed for use with a box spring in addition to a mattress.
Wrought iron, by definition, is shaped by hammering red hot, nearly molten solid iron with special tools, resulting in unique items that are truly one of a kind. True wrought iron beds are made by hand, with less than one percent of all iron headboards and footboards still made by this time-honored technique. A master blacksmith labors in the intense heat with hand tools and an anvil until each piece is perfect. As a custom handmade item, the Castanea Wrought Iron Canopy Bed requires a minimum production time of 8 - 10 weeks. Once Humble Abode receives your order, artisans begin creating your custom piece. Any change or cancellation must be received no later than 2 business days after placing the order.
