The Bosun Wrought Iron Canopy Bed is made by hand one at a time using age-old techniques that have not changed for centuries. Master craftsman, artist really, heat iron until it is red hot before hammering and bending it until it looks just right. Each spindle is tied to the swooping top of the headboard and footboard with a knot and welded for a lifetime or more of use. Most iron beds today really cannot be called wrought iron because they are made primarily of steel by machines. The Bosun Wrought Iron Canopy Bed is an exception as there simply is no better way to make an iron bed. The stunning design of the headboard and footboard allows it to coordinate many styles. Multiple iron finish colors are available. Natural Black is the standard finish for this bed. The additional finishes have a small premium upcharge. The Bosun Wrought Iron Canopy Bed is designed for use with a box spring in addition to a mattress.
